Ours is a true story of the sea.

Our journey of more than 80 years began in the auctions of the Galician artisanal fleet in the 1940s. We have sailed, adapting to the enormous changes in the sector, and so we have become a benchmark within and beyond our borders, both in the fish marketing and processing.

We currently own two vessels and exclusively market the catches of more than 50 longliners under different flags.

We are guardians of a tradition that has been passed down through four generations.

Suso” not only dedicated his whole life to selling fish at the fish market, but also worked as a businessman who laid the foundations of a company philosophy based on a sustainable business model, taking it from a traditional model to a progressive adaptation to the vibrant changes in the sector over the last 50 years.

We have been at the heart of this important industry since the 1940s, when Claudio Ibáñez Boente, our founder, started selling fish in the Port of Vigo, one of the most important fish markets in the world.

After him, his son-in-law, Jesús Fernández González, known to all as “Suso de Claudino”, continued with the auctioneer’s trade and laid the foundations of what is today our company, which has now entered its fourth generation.

We are more than a company; we are a family dedicated to preserving the sea and its resources for generations to come.

The legacy of ‘Suso’ as auctioneer and President of Hermanos Fernández Ibañez was recognised in 2006 with a medal and a street in El Berbés, presented by the Port Authority of Vigo as part of the 125th anniversary of its foundation. A recognition of a life dedicated to the commercialisation of fish in the port where he was born professionally and to whose development and growth he actively contributed.

The children and grandchildren of “Suso” have continued his legacy by driving our company into the future, maintaining the philosophy and spirit of our founders: a firm commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation.

The recent opening of our facilities in Mos, with eco-friendly deep-freezing technology and a photovoltaic plant, reflects our commitment to the future of the planet and the fishing sector.

More than traders, we are custodians of a maritime tradition, committed to sustainability and innovation.

Our history, a journey of more than 80 years.
